The Style Council: Mick Talbot and Paul WellerThe Style Council were the second musical creation of the great British musician Paul Weller, after the experience (and success) of The Jam. With the Style Council, active from 1983 to 1990, Mr. Weller with his "partner" , the keyboardist Mick Talbot, has been able to implement in full his musical ideas, an original mix of "cool" musical style, with Soul and Rhythm & Blues influences, sophisticated orchestrations jazz inspired, committed and highly polemical lyrics, against Britain and the U.S. during the Thatcher - Reagan era, and an aesthetic image, very far away from the then declining punk, elegant and refined, with the two musicians in the role of arbiters of elegance, in an explicit mention of the Mod movement of the '60s .

Many were the successes of the group, who scored the background music of the '80s , from "Speak like a Child " to " How Tumbling Down The Walls " to " You're The Best Thing " .
The personnel was completed by the Style Council singer Dee C. Lee, coming from the jazz scene, and the young drummer Steve White .
