Bruce Springsteen

Bruce Springsteen , widely regarded as the number one between the rockers, began his career in the late '60s as a folk singer, then he moved progressively to a new energetic rock, solidly based on the group that he had formed in the meantime, the E Street Band, with Clarence Clemons on sax, Steve Van Zandt (Little Steven) on guitar, replaced in some records and tours by Nils Lofgren, Danny Federici at the keyboards, Ray Tallent on piano, Gerry Bittan on drums. With them, he prepared the first records and above all he has built its reputation as inexhaustible rocker and performer through many memorable live performances. Needless to remember his greatest hits, firstly Born To Run (1975) and then Born In The USA (1984), one of the best-selling rock records of all time.

One episode tells best of all his genuine passion for music and for the possibility for an artist to enter into communion with his audience: the night before the concert in Roma, during his first successful tour in Italy, in 1988, (that was planned in a stadium), Springsteen, that was guest of a hotel in the center of the city, allowed himself a night walk along with his new girlfriend Patty Scialfa, and probably with other members of the band, and he reached the famous steps of Piazza di Spagna, here he met a group of guys, and he could not resist the temptation to play something with them, and ended up doing a small concert, almost as a busker, to that unexpected audience, who had not recognized him,and that has had the opportunity to sing and play the guitar in the night of Rome with the world's most famous rocker.
