Powaqqatsi is a nonverbal film containing documentaristic images from Brazil, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Kenya, Nepal, and Peru. In contrast to Koyaanisqatsi, the previous documentary of Godfrey Reggio produced by Francis Ford Coppola and George Luicas, like this one, Powaqqatsi is concentrated more on people and their work and life and less on their creations.

Very remarkable is the music, composed by Philip Glass, one of the best creation of the great musician, one of the father of minimalism in music. In the followings a selection of images taken from the topic moments of the film, a suggestion to find and buy this film, that everyone should watch at least one time in the life, in order to reflect on the complexity of the world of men.

The locations of the film were in Brazil (Serra Pelada, the gold mine of the prologue, and Carajas, in the state of Parą), India (Rajasthan, the fishing images and maybe also the sand buildings houses), Peru (Cuzco), Nepal (Bhaktapur, Katmandu), Egitto (Cairo), Cina (Hong Kong), Kenya (Mombasa) and moreover filming in Western locations (Germany, France, Israel).
